OUR FOUNDER’S JOURNEY
I was always interested in helping people in some way. Initially, I trained as a dental assistant, then went on to pursue work in a busy downtown hospital. For the last 20 years, I have been working at Mount Sinai Hospital at the Ontario Fetal Centre & Prenatal Diagnosis and Medical Genetics.
I suffered from hirsutism in my teenage years. It is a condition amongst women in which there is excessive growth of coarse or dark hair. With this condition, I became very self conscious of my dark hair growth. In my teen years, it was a very emotional, painful time for me, as it affected my self esteem.
My passion to become a Certified Electrologist resulted from trying to help my own teenage daughter who is also suffering from the same condition, familial hirsutism. For her, I found that electrolysis was better approach. In my journey to help my daughter, I felt this powerful desire to make a positive impact for those suffering from excessive hair growth like I had. Since then, I have completed an intense program of Electrolysis and Electrocoagulation for skin tag and other benign skin disorders removal at the Lucy Caruso International School of Electrolysis. I have also trained under the guidance of one of the best Electrologists in the city, Julia Bouloukou, who is the founder and owner of the Electrolysis Derma Care Clinic in Toronto. I am extremely grateful to Julia for allowing me the opportunity to work on her clients. She instilled in me the highest standards of practice, and because of her, I also continue to follow a methodical, detailed, forthright approach to electrolysis hair removal for my own clients. I specialize in PCOS, preparation for Gender Reassignment surgery, and hair induction after laser hair removal.
